One-Size
Diapers
Pampered Cheeks One-Size
Fitted diapers are an excellent economical option! These diapers
offer flexible sizing and absorbency to fit a baby sized 10 lbs* up to 35
lbs. For information about One Size Pocket diapers, see here.

I start with a
cute print outer (I use knits, velours, flannels, or wovens), then select an absorbent
inner fabric, such as sherpa, cotton fleece, or hemp fleece. There is a hidden
layer of terry sewn into the "wet zone". The diapers have a full
inner layer of microfleece or velour, and both of the snap-in soakers are topped
with matching fabrics. Both microfleece and velour work hard to help
keep your baby dry! They also hide all snap caps.
The diapers
each have a set of snaps on the front, but not so many that it is
overwhelming! It is easy to adjust the diaper to a size small,
medium, or completely open for a large. Touchtape closures make the
diaper more easily fit a wide range of baby shapes. I have fold-over
laundry tabs to help prevent "diaper snakes" and cross-over tabs
.
The diaper
below also has a new feature I've added to my diapers:
hip snaps to prevent wing droop! These snaps
are optional. If they are on the diaper, you don't even have to
use them if you don't want to. They are positioned to be snapped
when the diaper is closed on tighter settings. This will prevent
the ends of the front of the diaper from drooping or sliding out as
your baby wiggles and moves. The snaps also provide a great
back-up system to the Touchtape. For more information, see
the new hip snaps tutorial.

I also
offer front snap closures on the one-size fitted diapers!

There are two
snap-in soakers that have up to 3 absorbent layers each. One soaker is smaller than the
other. Use the small soaker for a smaller baby, and the larger
soaker for a larger baby or for overnights. Use both soakers for a
heavy wetter, for overnights, or for toddlers. That is up to 10
absorbent layers in the wet zone! This wide range of flexibility makes the
diaper trimmer and helps one-size really fit more babies.

Adjusting the
one-size diaper is crucial to getting the right "fit" on your
baby. Click the pictures to see a larger version.
Snapped on the smallest setting, with the small
soaker snapped in front. Use without the soaker on a tiny baby.
Snapped on the medium setting, with the medium
soaker snapped in front--the extra length
will go to the back.
Set on the largest setting (unsnapped) with both soakers snapped in.
Instead of
buying a set of diapers in size small, then another set in size medium,
and then another set in size large, you can buy one set and use them until
your child potty trains or until the diapers wear out! I recommend a
good snug-fitting cover with the one-size diapers.
*Please
note that one-size diapers have their limitations. Typically it
is hard to make a diaper really fit well at both extremes (either 10
lbs or 35 lbs). Most one-size diapers fall short of covering all
the sizes very well. I would say that my one-size diapers are on
the "large" side. Click here
to see a photo comparing the one size to a size large. They
begin to fit well after 10 lbs, though some people have used them (and
loved them) on smaller babies. Knit fabrics (and velour) always
fit better than flannel or woven fabrics. One size diapers may
be bulky in the front due to the rise snaps (in the front is where all
the extra fabric gets folded down to). You may have a child be
on the medium setting one week, then find that the very next week the
child's proportions change and you have to adjust the setting again to
get a better fit. This is normal!
