Malachi Jude
12 months and beyond
Malachi is
now 1 year old! I pulled out a medium
side-snapping diaper Malachi had "grown out of" some months
ago. I was surprised to find it fit very well again.
Imago Dei...made in the image of God
Malachi weighs 23 lbs 15 oz, and is 30-something inches
tall. He is well-proportioned for his age. Still, he's got a
lot of chub.
I made a new diaper for him. One of the drawbacks
to using cotton wovens or flannels is that the fabric does not
stretch. Stretchy diapers fit better and longer. But cotton
wovens and flannels come in a wide variety of adorable prints and are
relatively easy to find. I've come up with a solution--stretchy wing
tabs.

All diapers should fit this good!!

With
stretchy wings, and without.
These two
diapers have been washed and used several times. We love them both,
but obviously one fits better than the other. Both are size large,
front snapping, have bamboo fleece hidden layer and bamboo velour inner
lining. The diaper on the left has a cotton woven outer with velour
on the wings. The diaper on the right has flannel outer.

Malachi has
been very happy to model our new All-in-Two diaper. These pictures were all taken with all three inserts inside:
Excellent
leg coverage with the modified gussets, nice trim fitting in the front
(especially for a one-size), and not too bulky at the back
I removed the small insert (going to give it a good test), then we got
ready for an outing (read: going to the Doctor's office with only the
large snap-in and a doubler). Specifically, MJ's inserts are bamboo
fleece topped with bamboo velour. This trip lasted 2.5 hours and at
that point I HAD to change him.
A great fit, considering these are denim shorts not generously made for
cloth diaper "bubble butts!"
